Strange Times – Helping the Neighborhood

Dear Team,

Over the last few weeks, we have been working hard to make sure that all of our team members are safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your work in putting our health programs into place and we appreciate your effort to make sure that we are continuing to follow our health and safety programs. They are important!

However, it is now time to move on to the next phase – increasing sales and customer counts at our stores. We are putting into place several new programs to bring our customers back and to adapt to the current situation. We need to be building our business now so that we are in a good position when we get past the COVID-19 crisis.

Our marketing and operations teams will be sending you information on the new programs over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, we need the assistance of our store teams to help us find local businesses to work with in your neighborhoods. Our plan is to contact local businesses that have had to close down due to COVID-19 restrictions and see if we can help them in some way. If you know of a local business that has had to close and is near your store, please let me know by replying to this email. It can be a restaurant, a local book store, a farm or a person selling arts and crafts (fabric masks for instance) – anyone that is trying to sell something but can’t do so in the current situation. Perhaps we can help them by selling their products in our stores. There are certain requirements that they will have to meet but we are interested in talking to them to see if we can help.

Thank you for your help.

Stay well.

Roy
