I know that you have heard, as I have, about the possibility of COVID-19 restrictions being relaxed. People want to go back to work and to get out of their houses. State governments are starting to allow businesses to reopen that were not considered to be essential. Everyone is getting tired, and bored, of having to follow rules. We’ve been doing this for so long, we are becoming complacent.
Do not be lulled into a false sense of security. The COVID-19 virus is still out there and can infect you and your family. If one contagious person enters a store or office, everyone working there can become infected and they can take it home to their families. Now is not the time to relax.
As the rules for daily life begin to change, again, we must be sure to maintain our health and safety precautions. Until we hear otherwise from the CDC, StrasGlobal will continue to implement all of our COVID-19 safety precautions: masks, gloves, aprons, physical distancing, frequent hand washing, cleaning of the store, temperature checks and limiting the number of people in the store. We will modify our standards in line with CDC best practice recommendations or local laws, whichever is most strict.
We are moving into Phase 2 of our program – increasing sales and profitability at our stores – but our number one focus has not changed: the health and safety of our team and our customers. We need your help to protect everyone.
As Winston Churchill said, “This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” We will get through this together, but we are not through it yet.
