Strange Times – Healthcare Information

Dear Team,

The COVID-19  pandemic has created anxiety and concern at many levels.  Probably the biggest concern for all of us is the cost of healthcare if we, or someone in our family, gets sick.  StrasGlobal has been in contact with our health insurance company, American Worker, to find out what benefits and plans they can offer during this crisis.  American Worker has:

  • Reopened the enrollment period for people to sign up for insurance if you are eligible to do so.
  • Modified their programs to meet the requirements of the recently passed Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
  • Provided access to Teladoc by calling 1-800-TELADOC (835-2362) or going to Teladoc.com/coronavirus. Teladoc doctors can answer questions about the disease, evaluate your risk, and provide support by a phone or video call to help relieve symptoms for affected patients, addressing both physical and mental health needs.

Unrelated to American Worker and Teladoc, the CDC Disaster Distress Helpline (1-800-985-5990) can help answer your questions about the pandemic and provide you with support by providing confidential counseling, referrals, and other support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We will continue to provide you with more information over the next few days.  You will also be receiving details about how to enroll with American Worker if you are eligible to do so.

Please let us know what questions you have and remember, we are in this together.

Stay well.

Roy
