I know that you have seen the changes that we have been making at our stores as we confront the spread of the COVID-19 virus: placing sneeze guards at every POS position, enforcing social distancing, intensifying our cleaning procedures, removing self-service food items, putting fountain and coffee cups behind the sales counter, limiting the number of customers who can come into the store, sending out protective gear (when available), and other measures. All of these steps are being put into place to help protect you, and our customers, when they visit our stores.
These actions are part of a larger plan. Over the last few weeks we have been working on implementing our COVID-19 Response plan – a list of actions and steps that we are taking during this crisis. We posted our plan on the StrasGlobal website last week and have shared it with the c-store industry as an example of how to address the current situation. Several retailers have told us that they are implementing it in their stores and have thanked us for it. The Response is a work in progress – we are making additions and modifying the Response on a daily basis as the situation changes and we learn more – but it does give an overview of what we are trying to accomplish.
